Greek origin yellow kiwi (Soreli)
For a period of about 4 weeks we will offer Soreli Kiwi from Greece. “Soreli” means “Sun” in the Friulian dialect spoken in Udine (IT) where the fruit has been originally developed.  The variety Soreli originates from a plant breeding program in 1997 at the University of Udine and has been commercially on the market since 2008. Since 2012 this variety is also available from Greece and we are the lucky ones to be  able to offer them. All Organic and All Sustainable as always.
Soreli is a kiwi variety with very special characteristics. The skin is smoother than Tsechelidis and Hayward and the flesh is light yellow. The acidity is very low which, in combination with the special sweet Melon, Pear, Kiwi taste, makes it very pleasant to eat.
Although one of the other characteristics is that the fruit is big, we see that this is not the case in the Greek climate. About 70% of our fruit that will be harvested is in sizes 46, 42 and 39 which however we don’t see as a disadvantage in our market.
The content of vitamin C, A and E in Soreli is double the value as in Hayward. But most important,……it’s a delicious fruit that your clients will ask for again.
